AbstractThe 24th Ordinary Session of AU Assembly of Heads of State and Governments held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in January 2015 adopted the Agenda 2063, as the strategic framework to ensure Africa’s socio-economic transformation over the next 50 years. The framework called for a paradigm shift whereby Africa must do things very differently to take advantage of the current momentum towards 2063. “Agenda 2063” is an approach to how the continent should effectively learn from the lessons of the past, build on the progress now underway and strategically exploit all possible opportunities available in the immediate and medium term, so as to ensure positive socioeconomic transformation within the next 50 years. As ACBF celebrated the Africa Day (25 May 2015) and as part of communication strategy to widely disseminate this critical strategic framework for Africa, Dr Roger Atindehou made a presentation on the theme: “Agenda 2063 and 10-year strategic plan: the meaning for Africa and Africans”. He narrated the key features of the document as well as the role for ACBF as a key stakeholder supporting AUC in this journey.
