AbstractInvesting can be overwhelming for most individuals-even seasoned investors. Investing is nonetheless essential to growing your wealth for a comfortable retirement amongst other goals in life. A common mistake people make when investing, especially in financial assets, is that they allow their emotions to take over and do not take the time to determine if the investment will achieve their financial goals or meet their needs. For example, as you approach retirement or are planning to send your child to university the rules you are using for your investment may no longer apply. The brown-bag session provided basic guidelines that every staff interested in investing should know on how to analyse their investment portfolio to ensure that they reach their financial goals. The session included a discussion on how to determine one’s profile as an investor and allocate one’s assets appropriately. The session included a power-point presentation followed by Question & Answer part.
